CheckWins is a free weekly habit tracker, published by The Freedom Stable. This page explains what is collected when you use it, who else sees it, and how to opt out.

Your tracker stays in your browser

The behaviours you add, your weekly targets and every tick are saved in this browser’s own storage. They are not sent to us or to anyone else, and there is no account system. Clearing your browser’s site data deletes them.

Two optional features would send something off the page, and both are switched off today:

What is collected, and by whom

ServiceWhat it does hereWhat it collects
Google AnalyticsCounts visits and shows which sections people use, so we can tell what worksPages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived. Uses cookies. Google signals is switched off.
Google AdSenseShows ads, which is how the site pays for itselfGoogle and its partners use cookies and similar identifiers to serve ads, including ads based on your visits to this and other sites. Read how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Microsoft ClaritySession recordings and heatmaps, so we can see where the page is confusingClicks, scrolling and page layout. The tracker and the reminder form are masked, so a recording never shows the behaviours you typed or your email address. Uses cookies.
Cloudflare Web AnalyticsA privacy-first visit counterPage views and performance timings. It sets no cookies and does not track you across sites.
Google FontsLoads the typefacesYour browser requests the font files from Google, which receives your IP address.
Hostinger (our host)Serves the pageStandard server logs — IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time — used for security and operations.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Running third-party ad and analytics tags does, however, count as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law, and some other US states treat it the same way. That is what the opt-out below switches off.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

You can opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information in two ways, and either one is enough:

Status in this browser: checking…

To limit ad personalisation across Google’s network generally, use Google’s My Ad Center. You can also opt out of interest-based ads from many companies at optout.aboutads.info.

Visitors in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland

If you visit from these regions you will be asked for consent before cookies are used for ads or analytics, through Google’s consent message. Until you choose, ad and analytics storage stays off, and Microsoft Clarity sets no cookies. You can change your choice at any time from the privacy and cookie settings link that the consent message places on the page.

Cookies

CheckWins itself sets no cookies. The cookies on this site come from Google Analytics, Google AdSense and Microsoft Clarity as described above, and they are not set at all when you have opted out.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Your rights and how to reach us

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information is collected about you, to have it deleted, to correct it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. Because your tracker never leaves your browser, we hold nothing tied to your name. For anything collected by Google, its own tools at myaccount.google.com are the quickest route. For anything else, write to hello@thefreedomstable.com. We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.

Changes

If what this site collects changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top is updated.
